This lens is constructed with 3 aspheric lens elements for minimizing lens flare and ghosting as well as providing greater image quality.  It is also equipped with dynamic IS to provide the image stabilization during recording video while walking and provides up to a 4-stop equivalent reduction in camera shake.

Both of these lenses feature STM or stepping motor technology for improved autofocus capabilities with HD video. The STM provides extra smooth, quiet auto-focusing to reduce internal mechanical noise and smoother transitions while changing focus while recording.
